Six Cherokee High School students get commendation letters from National Merit Scholarship Program.

Six scholastically talented students at Cherokee High School were recognized as Commended Students by the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, the school announced.

The commended students were Lucas Bender, Amanda Lefferts, Nidhi Mandrekar, Rudra Patel, Manas Vadlamudi, and Charles Wasserott.

Although they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they are placed among the top 50,000 students who entered.

Each received a Certificate of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in recognition of their outstanding academic performance, according to Cherokee, which serves Evesham Township.
