At the daily COVID-19 briefing, Gov. Phil Murphy announced he had signed an executive order giving grace periods for several kinds of insurance premiums. A minimum 60-day grace period will be required for health and dental insurance policies. The governor also ordered a minimum 90-day grace period for life insurance, homeowners and rental insurance.

The governor also said insurers cannot require the premiums be repaid all at once. "It can't just be 90 days and then you face a big lump sum payment," Murphy said at the briefing. He said the same rule covers mortgage companies.
