An Aspen Dental office next to the Super Wawa on Haddonfield Road in space previously allowed for retailing was unanimously approved by the Cherry Hill Planning Board on Monday night.
Zawa-Cherry Hill LLC applied to build the 3,500-square-foot dental office and 2,500-square-foot retail space on a grassy area to the right of the Wawa on its property. The space is at 900-912 Haddonfield Road across from the Cheesecake Factory restaurant.
The board had previously approved retail space only on the site, but, because of the economy, there is not a lot of interest among retailers, Sara R. Werner, of Prime & Tuvel in Mount Laurel, representing the applicant, told board members.
"I'm glad to see this plan for this space," member Alise Panitch said in voting yes.Â
