The townhomes would be built on the large part of the property in yellow.

A proposal to build 60 townhouses and 16 affordable units next to the Burlington County Agricultural Center on Centerton Road in Moorestown has been submitted to the Planning Board.

Developer D.R. Horton, a national homebuilder, would build on the 17.64 acres owned by the Catholic Diocese of Trenton under the plan, which requires Township approvals for preliminary and final site plans, subdivision plans and a bulk variance.

The date for a public hearing on what would be known as The Enclave at Moorestown has yet to be set.

Early site layout plans filed with the Township show market-rate townhouses and "stackable" affordable housing units. The affordable housing, segregated on a cul-de-sac at the back of the property, would have eight buildings with a unit on each level, according to the plans.
