Cherry Hill, Evesham/Marlton, Medford, Medford Lakes, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Voorhees and elsewhere near the iconic state highways of Routes 70 and 73.
In the first six months of 2019, nearly 1,600 homes sold for $50,000 or more in the communities of Cherry Hill, Evesham, Medford, Medford Lakes, Mount Laurel and Voorhees.
That was about equal to the number sold in the first six months of 2018, according to an exclusive analysis by 70and73 of real estate sales provided by counties to the state of New Jersey Division of Taxation.
Average and median home prices (condos not included) for each community are listed below. The statistics offer a look at the market for homes in a given area. The average can be thrown off by a few high-priced home sales in a community. The median generally is a better indicator.
However, the averages and medians don’t necessarily reflect the change in value in your home. That can depend on everything from neighborhood to type of home in favor with buyers to how long you’ve been an owner.
In the first six months of this year, the median age for homes sold in Medford Lakes was 59 years. That was followed by Cherry Hill (55), Medford (40), Evesham (35), Voorhees (35) and Mount Laurel (33).
Median costs per square foot were very close: $161 in Medford Lakes, $149 in Mount Laurel, $148 in Medford, $141 in Evesham and $133 in Cherry Hill and Voorhees.
And the median sizes of homes sold in the first half of the year were close in some areas: 2,421 square feet in Medford, 2,376 in Voorhees, 2,052 in Cherry Hill, 2,000 in Evesham, 1,999 in Mount Laurel and 1,758 in Medford Lakes.
