PROPOSED CHERRY HILL ALZ FACILITY

A Cherry Hill long-term care facility's plan for a new building that would offer Alzheimer's disease care goes before the Zoning Board of Adjustment on Thursday.

Spring Hills Cherry Hill LLC, a unit of Edison-based Spring Hills Senior Communities, wants to build a 64-bed assisted living facility in a parking area on its campus at 1450 Route 70, near Ranoldo Terrace and the Cherry Hill Alternative High School.

The nursing home formerly was the Clarion Hotel and, before that, the Sheraton-Poste Inn, which was built in the 1960s, according to the township. Spring Hills in December 2010 was granted a use variance to convert the hotel into a 150-bed long-term care facility.

Spring Hills' proposed 23,100-square-foot building requires several zoning variances, including those for lot coverage minimums and parking and loading spaces. Traffic to the facility would enter and exit through the current campus, according to site plans.
