More than 75 different vendors will sell a variety of produce, seasonal plants and flowers, prepared foods, crafts and other specialty items at the Burlington County Farmers Market beginning this Saturday.
Twenty years of farm-fresh vegetables and produce will be recognized this Saturday, May 9, as the Burlington County Farmers Market opens for its milestone season.
"It was 20 years ago that the county Farmers Market made its debut with 13 farms and five food vendors and artists," Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson said in a statement.
This year, the original 18 vendors from that first 2007 season have grown to more than 75 at the Burlington County Agricultural Center, 500 Centerton Road in Moorestown. The market runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The market opens every Saturday through November 14 with special days such as Peachy Party, Tomato Day and Apple Day. For information on the market, go to the Burlington Agricultural Center website here.
Anniversary cake will be served on Saturday to recognize farms and vendors who were among the originals 20 years ago. They include Little Hooves Romneys, Cranberry Hall Farm and the James Durr Farm, according to the county.
Many other Farmers Market vendors will be returning, including the Black Sheep Farm, Bart's Flowers, Davidson Exotic Mushrooms, Fernbrook Farms, Mill Creek Apiary, Pinelands Produce, Scallop Shack, Stephen Specca Farms, Recklesstown Farm Distillery, Armageddon Brewing, Cheese Etc., Harvest Coffee, Healthy Paws, Hoop House Bakery, Lula's Empanadas, Mecha Chocolate, Raven Cakes, Humble Spud, Peewee's Ice Cream, Raven Cakes, The Soup Bar, Tis So Sweet, Wild Flour Bakery, Scrub a lil Deepa, Linda's Healthy Living, Clay Scenes and DAZ Innovations.
Twelve new vendors will be at the Farmers Market for the first time this year. They include River Valley Community Grains, a new agricultural business specializing in nutrient-dense grains, local flour and healthy breads and cereals; Rupert's Pizza, a new food vendor selling freshly baked pizzas; Kismet Bagels; 24 Hour Vegan; Spice it Up Jamaican Food, Ricewich, Pies and Quiches, By Zena, Great & Small Bakery, Venn Breads, Magnify Brewing, and Neck of the Woods Brewing.
In 2024, the market was voted the No. 1 farmers market in New Jersey during the American Farmland Trust's annual poll. In 2025, it was voted the No. 4 farmers market in the nation by the USA Today 10BEST Readers Choice Awards, and this year it returned to the Top 5 in the same national poll, according to the county announcement.
"The Farmers Market was created to support Burlington County farmers who were looking for an additional way to sell their products," Allison Eckel, county commissioner deputy director, said in a statement. "Over its 20-year history, the market has grown to become a significant economic engine for our local and regional farmers, restaurants, artists, breweries, distilleries and other small businesses who sell there. Its success is a credit to visionary leaders, county staff and parks employees and the vendors whose products make it such a beloved shopping destination."
