A $14 million expansion — the first in 21 years — at the Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT) Westampton Campus will make room for 100 additional students in automotive and heavy equipment technology and global business/supply chain management, according to Burlington County.
The 39,000-square-foot addition and renovation project was ready for students at the beginning of the school year and celebrated by county and school officials with a ribbon cutting last Thursday.
"This expansion is more than just bricks and mortar, it's a promise to prepare our students for the careers of tomorrow," Ashanti Holley, superintendent of the Burlington County Institute of Technology/Special Services School District, said in a statement. "We are not just building classrooms, we're building pathways to innovation, to opportunity and achievement."
A record 2,300 students are enrolled at the BCIT vocational education campuses at Westampton and Medford. BCIT's 98% graduation rate is among the best in New Jersey, according to the school.
