Two candidates employed by nonprofits and one who is a college professor were elected to the Cherry Hill Board of Education on Tuesday from a field of 10 candidates, according to unofficial results from Camden County.

Bridget Palmer, 41, who lives on Chestnut Terrace and is director of government relations for Bancroft, a nonprofit that provides services for people with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, was the top vote-getter. She received 13,871 votes. Most votes were cast by mail (6,816), followed by Election Day (5,073) and early voting (1,982).

Palmer ran in the same bracket as Kurt Braddock, who was the third candidate chosen by voters. 

Braddock, 43, of West Riding Road, received 10,307 votes. Most votes were cast by mail (5,300), followed by Election Day (3,559) and early voting (1,448). 

He is a five-year resident of Cherry Hill who is assistant professor of communication at American University in Washington, D.C.

The second-highest vote-getter was Dr. Dean Drizin, 40, of Balsam Road. He holds a medical degree and an MBA and leads the corporate development office of a national nonprofit home health care organization.

Drizin received 12,784 votes. Most votes were cast by mail (5,567) followed by Election Day (5,052) and early voting (2,165).

An incumbent, Quadsia Birat Niaz, was the seventh-highest vote-getter and was not reelected.

A total of 84,000 votes were cast for all of the candidates, with 38,078 by mail, 32,387 on Election Day and 13,535 in early voting.
