Families in Evesham should have tuition-free, full-time kindergarten like other school districts in South Jersey, voters decided in Tuesday's general election.
The vote was 55.5% (6,359) to 44.45% (5,088) in favor of offering free kindergarten, according to the Burlington County Board of Elections, with 31 of the 32 districts in the Township reporting in the unofficial results.
Evesham voters also overwhelmingly approved offering mental health services to elementary and middle-school students. A total of 7,440 votes (65.08%) were cast in favor versus 3,992 (34.92%) against.
Many elections had some write-in votes. In nearly every election, most, but not all, districts had been tallied.

Fleisher elected Cherry Hill mayor
Democrat David Fleisher, who was Township Council president, was elected mayor with 70.55% of the votes (12,084 total) over Republican challenger Nicole A. Nance, who received 29.29% of the votes (5,017). Current Mayor Susan Shin Angulo did not seek reelection.
Apell top Cherry Hill Council vote-getter
With three open spots for Council, Democratic incumbent Jennifer Apell received 23.4% of the vote (11,840 total), Democratic incumbent Michele Golkow received 23.26% (11,770) and Democratic incumbent Brian Bauerle received 22.91% (11,594). For the Republican challengers, Judi Giacoboni Russo received 10.37% (5,249), David Lodge received 10.1% (5,109) and Stephen T. Heath Jr. received 9.86% (4,988). Vote by mail in the election far outpaced in-person Election Day votes, 32,265 to 19,416.
Gallagher, Stern top votes in Cherry Hill school board
With three open spots for the Cherry Hill Board of Education, incumbent Kimberly Gallagher was the top vote-getter with 18.93% (7,791) of the vote, followed closely by incumbent board President Miriam Stern, with 18.23% (7,503). Also elected, according to the unofficial results with 50 of 53 precincts reporting, was Renee Cherfane with 13.42% (5,524). She was closely challenged by Jennifer Sharman, who tallied 13.24% (5,450), according to the late Tuesday night Camden County report. Other losing candidates: incumbent Ineda "Corrien" Elmore-Stratton, 12.81% (5,272), Nicholas J. Gaudio Jr., 12.03% (4,949) and John M. (Jack) Brangan, 10.71% (4,407).
Student candidate elected to Evesham school board
Aiden DeMarsey, an alumni of Evesham schools and a student, was one of three candidates elected to the Evesham Board of Education. He had 20.54% (5,149) of the vote, with 31 of 32 districts reporting. His fellow student and running mate, Anthony Foster, did not make the cut with 17.59% (4,409) of the vote. Besides DeMarsey the two other elected were incumbent Janis Knoll, 23.78% (5,962) and Jaron Brown, 21.52% (5,394). Flora Talmazan also was defeated, with 15.98% (4,006) of the vote.
Lenape Regional school board results
Elected were incumbent Barry J. Fitzgerald (Evesham), incumbent David E. Stow (Medford), incumbent Paula D. Lee (Mount Laurel), incumbent Nicole Moore Samson (Mount Laurel) and incumbent Charles D. Roseboro (Southampton). They had no challengers.
Mount Laurel school board results
Without opposition, elected were: Jade Moustakas with 33.69% of the vote (6,542), Sapna Rustagi, 32.48% (6,308) and incumbent Jon Paradise, 33.25% (6,457). They had no challengers.
Democrats reelected to Voorhees committee
Incumbent Voorhees Mayor Michael R. Mignogna received 36.12% of the vote, or 4,500 total and incumbent Harry A. Platt, received 35.63% (4,438) for the two seats. Both are Democrats. The losing Republicans were: Tina Bernstein, 14.21% (1,770) and Eric Simkin, 13.9% (1,731).
Branch Stewart leads votes for Voorhees school board
The three elected to the Voorhees Board of Education were Jennifer Branch Stewart with 26.03% of the vote (3,653); Richard Rosen, 24.52% (3,441) and Naveen Khan, 20.4% (2,863). Other candidates: Deborah Wellings, 14.27% (2,003) and Tara Edel, 13.69% (1,921).
Eastern Regional Board VP reelected
Elena M. Chow, the vice president of the Eastern Camden County Regional School District, was reelected with 49.97% of the vote (4,374) and incumbent Robert A. Paul also was reelected with 48.9% (4,280). They had no challengers.
Republicans win Medford Township Council
Republican Bethany J. Milk was the top vote-getter with 34.49% (3,815) of the vote for two seats on the Medford Township Council. Fellow Republican Michael A. Czyzyk got 33.23% (3,675) and Democratic challenger Raymond W. Coxe lost with 31.08% (3,437) of the vote.
Incumbents take Medford school board
Three incumbents on the Medford Board of Education were reelected to the three open seats. Trudy Cole received 28.24% (3,949); Katherine Santamore, 27.31% (3,819) and Board President Angela Zografos, 22.61% (3,161). Alexa Folsom lost with 21.33% (2,983). In a race for one-year unexpired terms on the board, incumbent Peyton Ebbeson, 50.17% (4,426) and incumbent Kenyette Jones, 48.97% (4,320) won. There was no challenger.

Kevin Kerfoot, an incumbent on the Medford Lakes Board of Education, received 51.24% (701).
Incumbents reelected on Moorestown school board
The three elected to the Moorestown Board of Education were: Jaclyn Barnes with 24.06% of the vote, or 3,196 total; incumbent Maurice "Mick" Weeks, 23.39% (3,107) and incumbent Brooke Mailhiot, 19.11% (2,538). The losing candidates were: Marisa M. Cohen, 18.43% (2,448) and David C. Hoffman, 14.65% (1,946).Â
Cappelli top vote-getter in Camden County race
Democratic incumbent Louis Cappelli Jr., who is the commissioner director, was the top vote-getter in the race for two seats on the Camden County Board of Commissioners. He received 34.12% of the vote, or 64,920 total. Incumbent Democrat Jonathan L. Young Sr. received 33.34% (63,441). The losing Republican candidates were Jason Fanning, 16.36% (31,133) and Norman C. Rebel Jr., 16.05% (30,537).
Incumbents take Burlington County commission
Incumbent Democrat Tom Pullion, deputy director of the Burlington County Board of Commissioners, was the top vote-getter with 28.75% of the total, or 53,001. Fellow Democratic incumbent Balvir Singh also won reelection with 28.16% of the vote (51,911). The losing Republican challengers were Alfonso Gambone, 21.57% (39,764) and Larry Vernamonti, 21.47% (39,587).
Schwartz wins reelection as Burlington County clerk
Incumbent County Clerk Joanne Schwartz, a Democrat, won 57.9% (54,086) of the total vote against Republican challenger Deborah Buzby-Cope, 42.03% (39,266).
Incumbent State Sen. Beach reelected in LD6
Democratic State Sen. James Beach, the incumbent, won reelection in Legislative District 6, which includes Cherry Hill and Voorhees. Beach got 69.6% (30,700) of the vote against Republican challenger Mark Doogan, who got 30.27% (13,352). In Burlington County, Beach got 60.35% (1,513) of the vote and Doogan got 39.57% (992).
Incumbents Win in LD6 General Assembly race
Incumbent Assembly member Louis D. Greenwald was the top vote-getter in Legislative District 6 with 34.91% (30,536) of the vote. His fellow Democrat and incumbent Assembly member Pamela R. Lampitt received 34.33% (30,027) of the vote. Their vote totals were more than double those of Republican challengers Danielle M. Barry, 15.4% (13,471) and Brian McRory, 15.27% (13,358). In Burlington County, Greenwald won 30.15% (1,489) of the vote; Lampitt, 29.89% (1,476); Barry, 19.97% (986) and McRory, 19.95% (985).
Singleton reelected state senator in LD7
Democrat Troy Singleton won the election for state Senate in Legislative District 7 with 66.22% (29,947) of the vote over Republican challenger James A. Fazzone, 33.67% (15,228). The district includes Mount Laurel and Moorestown.
Incumbents Win in LD7 General Assembly race
Democratic incumbents in the General Assembly in Legislative District 7 won strongly against their Republican challengers. Herbert C. Conaway Jr. got 32.79% (28,964) of the vote, followed by fellow Democrat Carol Murphy, 32.06% (28,320). Republican challengers Douglas F. Dillon got 17.55% (15,500) of the vote and Eileen Bleistine got 17.53% (15,483). The district includes Mount Laurel and Moorestown.
Tiver apparent winner in LD8 Senate election
With 131 of 132 districts counted in Burlington County and all in Atlantic County counted, Republican Latham Tiver had 26,922 votes and Democrat Gaye Burton had 24,609. Tiver was endorsed by State Sen. Jean Stanfield, a Republican who did not run for reelection. The district includes Evesham, Medford and Medford Lakes.
Close race in LD8 Assembly election
With 131 of 132 districts counted in Burlington County and all in Atlantic County counted, the Republican incumbents in Legislative District 8 faced a tough battle from the Democratic challengers. Republican incumbents Michael Torrissi Jr. and Brandon E. Umba received 26,458 and 25,979 votes respectively. Democrat Andrea Katz got 24,955 votes and fellow Democrat Anthony Angelozzi got 24,794. The district includes Evesham, Medford and Medford Lakes.
