The longtime Burlington County government satellite office in Moorestown Mall will close at the end of the month, giving way to a new location that opened Monday at 1020 Briggs Road, Mount Laurel, in a county office building.
"The new County Corner will be a convenient spot for residents to go for a variety of services from the County Clerkâs Office, Burlington County, and the State of New Jersey. It will have extended operating hours, plus a larger, more comfortable space with restrooms, a waiting room, greater privacy, and the potential to process more volume to reduce wait times," Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz said in a statement.
Last year, more than 14,000 Passport applications and renewals were processed at the Moorestown Mall County Corner, and more than 700 notaries were sworn-in there, the county reported in an announcement on Monday.
Details on the new office, according to the county's announcement:
Extended operating schedule will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The County Clerk's main office in Mount Holly at 50 Rancocas Road operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Parking is more accessible, and residents will not have to compete with mall customers for space.
Beginning February 3, the county Office on Aging will staff the corner location the first Monday of every month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for questions on senior benefits and services.
Two offices will be reserved for other county or state departments. Two that have expressed interest include the Burlington County Superintendent of Elections and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program.
