Cherry Hill, Evesham/Marlton, Medford, Medford Lakes, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Voorhees and elsewhere near the iconic state highways of Routes 70 and 73.
The owner of the SOFIVE Mount Laurel soccer center plans to add a brewery and outdoor field to its existing indoor fields.
Located on Hovtech Boulevard near Ark Road, SOFIVE wants its property to be part of the Route 38, Ark Road, and Fostertown Road Redevelopment Area that would make the brewery a permissible use, according to a proposal the Planning Board will review at its Thursday, May 14, meeting. The redevelopment plan revision then would go to Township Council.
"The town decided to work with them," Township Solicitor George M. Morris of the Parker McCay law firm told 70and73.com. If SOFIVE is not added to the redevelopment area it would need a use variance for the brewery, he added.
Morris said SOFIVE's owner is pushing to install the brewery this year.
Planning Board members also are scheduled to discuss adding indoor dog training, grooming, daycare, boarding spa and related services as a permissible use in the redevelopment area.
The meeting, held remotely by Zoom, begins at 6 p.m. Details on registering for the Zoom session are available here.
