Developer's application to the Mount Laurel Planning Board
A marijuana retailer proposes to open a store on Route 38 in Mount Laurel, adding to several already approved to do business in the Township on Route 73.
Los Angeles-based Stiiizy New Jersey LLC — which has several cannabis retail stores in California and its own line of cannabis vape pens — is scheduled to appear before the Township Planning Board on Thursday evening for conditional use and minor site plan approval.Â
Stiizy in January was notified by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission that its application to be a retailer in the state had been approved. The Mount Laurel Township Council in October 2022 unanimously approved a resolution to support Stiiizy New Jersey LLC in its application.
The former gasoline station/convenience store property at 3530 Route 38, at Marter Avenue and across from the Centerton Square shopping area, is owned by Laurel Fair LLC, in care of a Livingston, New Jersey law firm.
AutoZone proposed for Route 38
Another application scheduled to be before the Planning Board comes from AutoZone Northeast LLC of Memphis, Tennessee for a new Autozone store at 3209 Route 38, between Hartford Road and Larchmont Boulevard.
Stockholders or partners in the proposed 6,789-square-foot Autozone are listed on the application as Mark Giunta and Diane Abbruzzi, who operate Abbruzzi & Giunta's Italian Market next to the site. In 2021, the Mount Laurel Zoning Board of Adjustment approved preliminary plans for a Sammy's Express Car Wash on the site.
The developer seeks preliminary and final major site plan approvals, bulk variances and a site design waiver exception from the board.
