Three Shawnee seniors get commendation letters from National Merit Scholarship Program.

Three scholastically talented seniors at Shawnee High School were recognized as Commended Students by the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, the school announced.

 Jessica A. Bisti, Maxwell R. Gasik and Anya C. Wilt are among 34,000 students nationally recognized for their "exceptional academic promise," the school reported.

Although they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they are placed among the top 50,000 students who entered.

A letter of commendation from Shawnee and the Merit Scholarship Program will be presented to the students, according to Matthew Campbell, Shawnee's principal.
