The Burlington County Sheriff's Office, which last year collected more than 6,000 toys and gifts for its Annual Toy Drive, has kicked off this year's drive, in its 30th year.
New toys — with no wrapping paper — can be donated at more than 50 sites across the county through December 15. Among the donation sites is the lobby of the Burlington County Administration Building at 49 Rancocas Road in Mount Holly.
An application to be given toys is available here with the caution that "we cannot guarantee that you will be receiving toys this year due to the overwhelming requests that we receive." Toys are provided only to Burlington County residents age 15 and younger. Families with questions should contact the Sheriff's Community Outreach Unit at 609-265-3788.
"It's a longstanding tradition that has helped brighten the holidays for thousands of children and families," Burlington County Sheriff James Kostoplis said in the announcement. "We want to make this year's drive our most successful yet, so we're once again reaching out for community support."
The collection of goods to give away to those in need has become a year-round operation for the Sheriff's Office.Â
Donations of food, toiletries, water, toys, paper supplies and other household goods for distribution year-round are collected.
