10192022 POP SHOP MEDFORD

The Pop Shop on Main Street in Medford.

The Medford Pop Shop, which opened in 2015 in the former Burlington County National Bank Building on Main Street, will close its doors next Wednesday, October 26, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

"The memories we have been blessed with have been created through loyalty and dedication from so many, and for that we are grateful," the post on late Monday afternoon stated. "We also want to thank our customers, whether you only visited once or were a diehard Pop Shop enthusiast."

Visiting the Pop Shop is like stepping into the past. It's a blend of soda fountain and restaurant, which started with breakfast.

A Medford business, Cornerstone PEO, will take over the building, according to the post. Cornerstone PEO, which now is on Taunton Boulevard, provides payroll services and other human resources assistance to businesses, according to its website.

70and73.com has left requests for interviews with both the Pop Shop and Cornerstone PEO.

The original Collingswood Pop Shop, which opened in 2005, will remain open, according to the post.

"We will excitedly be refocusing all our energies on The Pop Shop Collingswood, our flagship location," the post states.

Facebook members lamented the planned Medford closing on the Pop Shop Facebook page.

"This is a big loss for Main Street," one person wrote. "The kids in our town will be so disappointed when they find out their favorite restaurant is closing."

Another wrote: "This is beyond sad. This was a wonderful place to go with the family! Your menu is awesome and staff friendly. Especially with Friendly's in Marlton gone now, I would have thought business would pick up. Now where can we take the kids? One of the hundreds of breweries? It's really a shame. I am so sad to see you go."
